Above all Lara Booth is passionate about telling great stories. Lara has designed the set and costumes for devised and scripted work for theatre, opera, musicals, and film. In a career spanning over 20 years Lara has designed for every era from Viking to Modern day and prides herself on bringing worlds and characters to life using her expert eye for colour and texture and through finding cost effective design solutions that transport the audience to another place and time. 

Lara has designed performances for all formats from traditional end on staging to theatre in the round, thrust stages, as well as site specific and promenade performances. Lara embraces the challenge that staging work in 'non theatre' spaces presents.
Having successfully completed the Women in Film and TV mentorship scheme in 2024 Lara designed her first Feature Film, Learning To Breathe Under Water, to be released later this year and is looking forward to transferring her passion for costume design to the big screen.
